Hitting backspace makes cursor disappear

Mac OS 10.5.8, Safari 4.0.2:
Type "asdf" at the beginning of a line, and hit backspace 4 times. Suddenly the cursor disappears. Hit backspace again and you go back to the previous page. Eventually the whole tab is closed.
Not 100% reproducible but very annoying.

Sometimes this also happens when hitting Return.

I think this one is a problem related to CodeMirror, and I fear unless a super JavaScript ninja finds that (probably) Safari-specific issue, we may probably have to bare this issue for a while :-(
