would you mind to upgrade from simple-bufferstream since it is deprecated and no longer maintained?

I don't mind at all. It looks like the author of that package recommends https://github.com/dodo/node-bufferstream as an alternative. If I can find something more lightweight I'll use that (or code something myself). Or, if you want to make a PR, I'll gladly review it.
