Feature Request: Allow for escaping of special characters in the "Original Text" field

Problem case

Provide some means for special characters (e.g. '[', ']', ...) or character combinations (e.g. '{{', '}}', ...) to be "escaped" in the "Original Text" field.

For example, here is a work-around that was necessary because this feature does not currently exist.
