Yes and no. Most samples are a mixture of cycling and non-cycling cells, so
estimating a cell cycle position does not make a lot of sense. If
your cells are sorted or synchronized, I don't see why it wouldn't work
(and I think we did do some experiments on samples like this, and it
worked).
