Play sound while showing images?

Do you have an idea how I could also play music files (e.g. mp3) while playback?

I've used an RPi as a radio alarm and it was easy enough to play audio. I got an audio 'hat' for the pi (can't remember which one, and probably been superseded now anyway) I will check out what python module I used for the sound but in the past I've used mpg123, which is a little linux utility, and 'just' run it from python using subprocess.Popen. This is all assuming you want to synchronize the music with the pictures...

Of course, if you're happy to just have the music playing in the background, independently then you don't need to integrate the two at all. Just start the music playing app with systemd like you do picframe
