Try to restore the wallet file from the backup if you can. There are various tips here: https://github.com/hivewallet/hive-mac/wiki/FAQ |
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately no back up. can i transfer the funds to
a different wallet only by having the source address? (of the hive wallet
that's corrupt).
Thanks again

Having access to some version of the wallet file is the only way to get access to the funds. No wallet, no bitcoins... Just think about this: in this repository's readme (https://github.com/hivewallet/hive-mac#contributing) there's a donation address listed where people can send bitcoins to me. If you could access your wallet just by knowing the address, wouldn't that mean that anyone could also access the donation wallet and take the bitcoins from there, since the address is publicly known? There's one more way - Hive automatically makes some local backup copies in case the wallet gets corrupted and there's no backup, look for "backup-*.wallet" files in the wallet directory. If there are any, one of them might work if you copy it in place of the "bitcoinkit.wallet" file. |
