Can not install this integration - {"message":"Invalid handler specified"} #102345

The problem

When I try to install the integration, I get this message {"message":"Invalid handler specified"}

I'm using Home Assistant 2023.10.3

If you're still having this issue, here's a quick fix.

I have no clue what your level of experience is, but if you haven't messed with something like this before, don't be overwhelmed. It's super simple. You literally just navigate to the mentioned file and change the couple of words from the "before" version to the "after" version and restart HA. When you try to add the integration again, it'll work. Feel free to reply and tag me if you need help with these steps, though.

Of course, it's unclear to me why they haven't merged that PR to fix it after >4 months. (I think it's not exactly maintained like it used to be. It's still working (other than this little bug), but it may not have support for the latest devices. I know that it doesn't recognize the rain-related parameters from my WS90. I'm going to add those and will probably create PR for it for others to reference (since I suspect it may get ignored as well, ha.)

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates.
