Consider mentioning new functions in tools 4.5: ‘CRAN_current_db()’, ‘CRAN_aliases_db()’ etc

There have been many functions added about packages on CRAN that will be released in R 4.5.0. See: https://developer.r-project.org/blosxom.cgi/R-devel/NEWS/2024/08/22#n2024-08-22. They can be useful to avoid topic duplication or even to find packages. Probably worth mentioning in the subsection on "Checking the package landscape" and/or the subsection on "Package metadata and information files".
