kb_options = level3:ralt_switch doesn't work

I have the above line and it doesn't work: the 3rd level letters aren't typed.
I suspect that's because Alt_R is in mod1 as it is by default.
In X11 I would just:

xmodmap -e "remove mod1 = Alt_R"

But in Wayland xmodmap doesn't work.

Any idea how to overcome this?

the answer was easy: level3:... is wrong. One should use lv3:ralt_switch
