Q1 2024 Roadmap
Currently, TLX is a quite niche product. It only caters for Indonesian competitive programming landscape. We have two options:
- Keep it niched and focused toward competitive programming
- Expand its market to all tech workers. Think LeetCode
If we were to expand TLX to a broader market (supporting English language, and for the broader tech industry), then we would not be any different compared to any other platforms like Hackerrank, LeetCode, vJudge, and USACO. So after a long discussion, we decided to keep it niched to prepare Indonesian for competitive programming.
The transformation we're offering is as follows: someone who can do basic coding will become someone who's proficient in competitive programming and can compete in the international landscape, including IOI, APIO, or even passing FAANG interviews.
- We have an increasing amount of daily active users (measured through Google Analytics)
- Monthly TOKI Regional Open Contest keeps going
- Launched the new UI and course where the completion rate is higher than the previous version
- Consolidation of other IA TOKI products that are related to competitive programming (e.g., Kujawab)
- Reduce bus factor by increasing the number of active contributors to 10
Here are the roadmap priorities. We probably won't achieve everything by Q1 2024. So, this will be a rolling workstream we'll keep working on as long as the strategy doesn't change.
- Update course UI
- Update task UI
- New course content that's more beginner-friendly (lower entry bar) and has better progression, measured through course completion rate
- SEO-friendly forum so people can find problem discussions through search engine
- Migrate Kujawab into TLX
- AI assistant to give hints during the course completion. Success is measured through a higher course completion rate, with comprehension (final test) as a guardrail.
- Better home page to guide "resume where you left"
