Bio(not edited)

-------

I am Dhruv Bhanushali, a junior student pursuing his bachelors degree in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee in Uttarakhand.

As a member of the Information Management Group in IIT Roorkee, I have learned deep technical knowledge and earned valuable experience in developing software and software infrastructure.

Software development

------------------------

I have experience in building software using various languages and frameworks such as

Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB

Python: Django and Django REST

Node.js: Express, Adonis and Socket.IO

Java: Swing and JavaFX

Android: Java logic and XML interface

I am also a poweruser of various software applications which include

Wolfram Mathematica

MathWorks MATLAB + Simulink

National Instruments Multisim

Apart from this I also have a fair degree of in-field knowledge of setting up server infrastructure.

Below are some of my projects

LecTut for Android - Android

LecTut is the Intranet study portal of IIT Roorkee. My project was to build an Android app to provide a native experience to the users and make it easy for them to manage the course material on the mobile phones.

Nobel - Node.js, Express and Socket.IO

Nobel makes it easy for IMG members to ping the lab and know who is present there. It allows IMG members to play a ring on a computer in the lab and then opens a chat between the caller and the lab occupants.

Amplio - Django

Amplio is an app for collecting reviews and feedback and then debating upon that feedback in an infinitely layered Reddit-like discussion. It is written in Django and will hopefully be a part of Channel i, the Intranet portal of IIT Roorkee.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, for more of my projects please checkout my résumé.

Physics

-----------

Being a student of Engineering Physics has brought me in close contact with the wonders of fundamental wonders while keeping me abreast of the engineering aspects of the subject.

The courses I learned as a part of my bachelors degree included these

core courses

PHN-008: Electromagnetic theory

PHN-102: Analog and digital electronics

PHN-211: Quantum Physics

PHN-204: Atomic, molecular and laser Physics

PHN-206: Elements of condensed matter Physics

MTN-105: Electrical and electronic materials

Also I have undertaken a project in the field of high-energy accelerator Physics under the Department of Physics at IIT Roorkee

Analysis of electron cloud density in particle accelerators

Supervisor: Dr. Puneet Jain, Assistant professor, Department of Physics

This project aims to analyze and formulate a theory for the electron cloud density occurring in particle accelerators, which occurs when photons emitted by accelerated charges cause photoelectric emission.

Interests

-------------

When not writing code or studying Physics, you'll find me listening to music, watching great films or TV episodes, eating, reading fiction or writing non-fiction.
