This issue is for discussing if it's syntactical/semantically correct and also technically feasible to include a nested hierarchy of synoynms, starting with inserting "chemical synonym type" between the base one and "International Nonproprietary Name". Reference:
Have you tried nested synonym types in OBO format ontologies? I never have. @balhoff should also take a look at this, and @cmungall because this may open the flood doors to a lot of very specific synonym types, and I cant approve of this all alone..
Here's the line to add to the template if this is possible:
