Hi LUV Team,

I get the error like

MTRR overview test failed, from the logs I get the message “FAILED [MEDIUM] MTRRIncorrectAttr: Test 1, Memory range 0x1000 to 0x8dfff (System RAM) has incorrect attribute” – Could you help me understand what test case is attempting here? and how do I interpret the failure here?

Best Regards,
Srinivas BN

Hi Srinivas,

I apologize for the very delayed response. This test case analyzes the caching type of the memory regions described in the file /proc/iomem and compares that with the settings under /proc/.

The memory range that you mention is of type "System RAM", and, thus, the type of caching must be set to writeback; anything else (uncached, write combining, write through, write-protected) will issue the error.

Perhaps if you send me the contents of the two files under /proc I could take a look, if you wish.

discuss with FWTS team about removing the test case/adding the fixed range MTRRs to the sysfs

This behavior is not observed in the latest LUV image. If the issue arises again, we can always reopen.
