matter only has a generic "Contact Sensor". To what I should map this in ioBroker? Door or Window (basically) ... ALternatively we add a generic Contact sensor

Not sure about a generic contact sensor. I don't think we need that.
Personally, I'd default to window.

I suggest to add a generic contact sensor. I think we had this discussion in relation to LoRaWan already (states docu if I remenber correctly). We have documented sensor.contact lately.

I do not think that users will be happy if the contact at the garage door maps to window. Neither the contact of some switch / touch element should map to window. And The garden door is no window too.

Are there any examples at matter where "Contact Sensor" is used at matter devices?
