Action Item | Assigned to |
---|---|
Continue to review the CIOOS endpoint & index to ODIS graph | Doug & JeffM |
- Attendance: Shayla (CIOOS), JeffC (CIOOS), Scott (CIOOS), Jacob (CIOOS), Shen (CIOOS), Lucy (OIH), Pier Luigi (OIH), Doug (OIH), JeffM (OIH), PieterP (OBIS)
- Agenda2: background on ODIS
- Lucy: is the project manager for OIH, explains that one of the key goals of OIH is to improve global visibility to ocean data centres
- JeffM: link to ODIS documentation: https://book.oceaninfohub.org/
- Doug: describing the architecture, driven by schema.org methodology, and indexed into ODIS graph, that can then be queried
- PL: easy to connect to ODIS
- PL: we're also syncing with the GOOS OCG and ERDDAP teams to plug in ODIS support
- Agenda3: background on CIOOS-Atlantic
- Shayla: is the director for CIOO-Atlantic
- Shayla: catalogue also includes a custom ISO metadata profile
- JeffC: use GOOS' EOV specifications, for consistent mapping
- Agenda4: potential steps for connecting CIOOS-Atlantic catalogue with ODIS
- JeffM: first review of CIOOS-Atlantic catalogue shows that most of the effort is completed already, to connect into ODIS
- Scott: curious to see how our ODIS harvest goes with our catalogue
- Doug: has a Jupyter Notebook that examines the CIOOS-Atlantic endpoint, and first review looks good
- Doug: next step would be the feed that into Gleaner to index
- Doug: what types of questions/queries do you see needed?
- Doug: I'd be interested in seeing how you encode your instruments into your metadata, is there a link for that?
- Scott: Instrument information would be available in the XML but isn't viewable directly in CKAN
- Scott: this (connecting as a node into ODIS) is a good active reason to modify & maintain our endpoint, for our team
- JeffC: we leverage ERDAP to meet climate/forecast 1.6 (EMODnet recommends), and use standard keywords
- Scott: check out https://explore.cioos.ca/
- PieterP: we/OBIS are standardizing our bio data around BODC NERC vocabularies for instruments and variables https://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/
- JeffC: that is good to hear re: BODC we are aiming for that as well
- Scott: We just had a discussion earlier the week to align our platform information to leverage the NERC L06 vocabulary
- JeffM: internal OIH ticket where we list the CIOOS-Atlantic sitemaps: https://github.com/iodepo/odis-arch/issues/84
- Jacob: I'm glad that sitemap.xml worked out
- Agenda5: schedule next meeting
- likely plan on meeting between the 2 technical teams, bi-weekly
- next meeting: 17 June @10am Halifax
