Hello everyone,
I have a question concerning the range parameter within the Stochastic depression analysis tool ([https://www.whiteboxgeo.com/manual/wbt_book/available_tools/hydrological_analysis.html#StochasticDepressionAnalysis]). Somehow, my first comprehension of that parameter was that it used a measure of the maximum elevation difference within a landscape, basically max - min, hence the map unit. But a recent discussion which made me look closer at the definition of the parameter and the works behind the tool now makes me doubt this is an accurate lecture. It looks more like the max scale in the landscape within which the analysis would consider if a pixel belong to a depression or not, like some kind of radius (and hence why the example proposed uses a value of 850, which is a pretty big elevation difference even within a large landscape)
Could anyone enlighten about what exactly this parameter stands for?
Kind regards,
