oops, I broke the poll by editing a typo in it. It was strongly in favor of "precompiled should be the default" |

If you haven't tried it yet, python installs now default to using precompiled binaries if you've enabled experimental. Is it working for you? Not working?
Most importantly, do you think this should be the default behavior once we finish testing it? Or default to using python-build like we do today?
BTW if you already know you won't want this functionality, run
mise settings set python_compile 1which will make it so you stay on python-build installs even if we change the default behavior to precompiled.1 vote ·
