I have side loaded the application to my iPod 5 (iOS 9.2.1) and it wont change the screen.
Please help

I don't think you're going to be able to get any support since Apple forced the f.lux developers to pull the program. However I was able to use another piece of the iOS software to do the same thing - https://github.com/anthonya1999/GoodNight - try that.
