Currently it not possible to export other types than Strings.
There are a lot of issues currently:

which are pointing to the same root issue which is that the user should be able to decide the return type of a "column".

i have graphics (Image) in tables which needs to be exported in the excel file. Currently i am only able to get following:

test_run.xml 00:00:02 com.vaadin.ui.Image@52fa07ad
