Should we start thinking about a new fork that could be a little better maintained? Doesn't look like this one is being developed anymore.

I think the goal now is to formulate support for firebase around sveltekit specifically, either as an adder or an adapter. The adapter seems to be currently maintained. Haven't used it though

I'd agree with you. No need to really support this when SvelteKit is the future.
