Area Aware Media Player

This feature is a simple media_player smart-group/proxy which will forward all play_media actions into media_player entities in occupied areas.

This is useful for sending TTS notifications only to areas which are occupied. Since alerts require a notification target and TTS notifications require a media_player device, this allows alerts to be played only on occupied areas, making sure they're heard!

Configuration options

Area-Aware Media player configuration settings are per area. If you don't enable the feature in the area, this area will not be considered for Area-Aware Media Player.

• Notification Devices: Media Player devices used for broadcasting through Area-Aware Media Player (leave blank for all [default])
• Notify States: Allow notification devices in this area to play notifications when area is on these states (default: extended). The default setting will only play notifications on areas that have been occupied for a while (extended state) but not if the area is on sleep. You can override this setting per area.
