Super late reply, sorry! sshrc does definitely look interesting, and I'll take a look at it. If it's still maintained, I'll probably end up adding a link to it in the readme.
I haven't had much of a need to use my own script in a while, so it doesn't really get any updates unless someone requests something :)

Yea, sshrc is still maintained. I'm in a pretty similar position to you - I haven't needed to update sshrc and only change things if people say they need something fixed.
