I have a feature request for a different "Add to playlist" dialog which would work just like the youtube playlist system:
There you can see whether a song is already in a playlist. If it's already in there you can not add it a second time but remove it. I think this is an awesome functionality because especially with big, unsorted playlists it is frustrating and time consuming to find out, whether a song is already part of a playlist.
Another possible solution to the problem of duplicate songs would be a "Remove duplicates" menu item in the playlist view. It would just scan the selected playlist for any duplicates and remove them so there is only one copy in the playlist.

The business logic is done. We just need someone to implement the material design. I don't know how that works and I currently don't have enough time to learn that.
