WILD THINKING AND TESTING
? can I launch 2 scratch instances and connect to two nodejs servers?
? does scratch-extensions support events too? or should we check reporters ourselves in a loop and then forward into scratch-world with a message/signal?
SRACTH-EXTENSION-STUFF:
- check other aspects of the extension SPI
See:
http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/18117/
- better resources?
- extension files should have extension .s2e >> we should include the file in the nodejs-ecpress distro and survice it over the web?
- the localhost should send a crossdomain policy file
- we should listen to /reset_all ? why and how?
DISCOVERY STUFF
nodejs discovery library
https://npmjs.org/package/polo
not tested alternatives?
https://npmjs.org/package/discovery-network
https://npmjs.org/package/hook.io
AMBITION / PLAN / SUGGESTIONS
- autodiscovery by using polo making it easier on the usage side of things
- so: simply launch nodejs with as little CLI args as possible
- and: configure and connect through nodejs-express pages (browser-admin) in stead
- foresee some debugging mode (in browser preferably) to see messages pass by
- allow for queue of messages to be kept,
==> so state to poll would be set of vars
* lastNR, nextNR, lastARG0, nextARG0
==> and foresee different calls to
* /send/:arg0 and
* /next (no args)
- let the *.s2e file (scratch-extension-json) be generated and saved + hooked up into scratch
- maybe allow multiple connections through generated connection-prefixes
so when you connect karel to marc you generate a s2e with associated extension-name and prefixe command-blocks + messaging URIs
- check for the "do-and-wait" variants of the messages (scratch has support through sync id of command)
- allow for multi-argument passing? /send/:arg0/:arg1/:arg2
- Maybe at connect time in browser interface you can name your args? So you don't have ARG0 monikers?
- does-should be set on one side (service-setup) and transfered to connecting side (service-connect)
