To facilitate serial number assignment, the Brother QL-700 can be used to print labels during the MCU flashing process.

Parts

Brother QL-700
- 220v QL-700 Note: printers are very sensitive to mains voltage, please buy the correct version of the QL-700.
Brother DK-2214 Labels recommended
- Off-brand labels will also likely work as long as they are DK-2214 compatible.

Setup

Should be automatically when running a flashing command (e.g. KTYPE.bash, uses this script to install the printer: install_ql700.bash
DataMatrix generation and label creation is handled by this script: label.py
Make sure the QL-700 is not in Editor-Lite mode, otherwise the install script (or printing) will not work.

Testing

Once either install_ql700.bash or and install script (e.g. KTYPE.bash) is run, then you can try to print from the command-line.
