A app called Kiwix, created by “Kiwix Team” is available in F-Droid and I wonder if someone could get two other apps by “Kiwix Team” to the F-Droid repo?? Or release the source code, that F-Droid workers can use to include the apps in F-Droid?
The names of the apps are “Wikivoyage” and “Chemistry & Physics simulations”.

@4tip The problem is that the FDroid team/software can not deal properly with APK extension files like the Play store does.

What are APK extension files? Those OBBs?

Just to be clear, all Kiwix is FOSS.

@eighthave Wasn't OBB support fixed at some point? I'm not aware of its status.

I think OBB support works, but it is not heavily tested. We welcome bug reports if anyone finds anything.

I have reopen the ticket. We are willing to help to see this happening. I have moved the ticket to the right repository. But this will tak IMO a bit of time before this will happen except if someone else does the job on the side on Flathub.

I've updated my F-Droid. The version of Kiwix I am offered in the F-Droid store is 3.6 ("updated 5 years ago"), and I don't see any "Wikivoyage" or "offline travel guide" in this Store (whereas as reported in #80, the latest Wikivoyage is now offered in the Play Store). But if I read this ticket correctly, the F-Droid versions are still pending for update.

There is not concrete plan for now to publish custom apps on FDroid. We understand that the challenge around handling the ZIM file is different than on the PlayStore. On the top of this we have a serious problem to fix as FDroid has removed many releases of Kiwix which were using Objectbox library. Fixing this and coming back to FDroid is the main goal of Kiwix Android 3.9.0.
