The delphi and python managers have a configurable "manager name" and an automatically generated GUID along with settings to retreive them. This helps clients identify the manager in multi-manager environments. scalabrad should support these as well.

Is the hostname of the manager not sufficient to identify which one you're connected to? Which clients actually use this?

The datavault optionally uses this. The reason I added it is that there were problems where a manager would have multiple hostnames or IP addresses when accessed via the gigabit lan vs. PCS lan.
