If there is only one phone number or email address for a contact, but it isn't explicitely set as default number or address, it is not shown in the contact list.
After import from the contact app my contacts are all without "defaults", so no data is shown in the list.

Good Idea!

I think that's more a favorite mark rather than a default mark.
And setting favorites by default might not be a good idea in some cases.
I like it, that I am able to see, which contacts I have revised after import (and by revision setting also the favourite contact data) simply by seeing, that there are no favourites set.

If you set default favourites, you see no difference there and so are not able to identify the contacts, that are freshly imported.
And it's always a good idea to revise all imported contacts sooner or later!

So I would like to stay at actual behaviour of the app.

Btw: At first I had the same or a similar opinion as you, but now I see the advantages of actual progress and app behaviour.

I do not want the default/favourite flag set on the data but rather I want the list to display non-default/favourite data, when it is distinct (reading: there is only one number or email address, etc.).

And for your "get your data straight" point: I think the most users just want to have a contact app that works. They don't want to edit every single contact by hand to make them show up. The don't want to tag their MP3s, sort their videos, configure the car radios, whatever. Just use it.
And we're talking about a software one uses every day, so this is quite important.
If there is an easy way to let this happen (like it is here IMHO) I'd personally rather choose this route.
Just my 2c.

BTW, just let me say that I really like the work you're doing with Contacts/Calender + apps. They are much more the way I imagine such software to be than the original ones.

Edit: aah, sorry @libasys , confused you with @deMattin. Anyway, what I wrote, still applies :-)

I understand your point of view.
And if there can be found another way to see in an overview, which contacts have been revised after import, I would have no problem with showing the contact informations if there only are one of a kind.

I could imagine to show the "automatic shown contacts" another way than the manual marked ones - In italic or something like that ...?
@libasys: What do you think?
