Set Google Drive folder on external MicroSD card [Feature Request]

I'd like to be able to place my sync folder on an external card due to limited space on the main drive and the impossibility to choose what to sync, but as of now the program can't (or won't) let me select any directory on the card (nor the card itself) and report "permission denied".

I tried creating a symbolic link to a folder in the MicroSD card and placing it in my home folder, but the error is smarter than me and it traced it back to the card.
