In bright light, black text on white background is easier for me to read.
[In the command bunker, of course all is themed black.]
Not sure what would be easiest way to do that.. depends on the term perhaps.
I do know that with xterm and probably some others, the OSC controls are supported, so one can change foreground and background to:
printf "\033]10;#000000\007";printf "\033]11;#FFFFFF\007"
