Unlike timegraphs, in XYChart widgets the current-visible-timerange start is not displayed completely on the left edge of the widget. There is usually some spacing between the edge and the vertical axis.
The timeline widget alignment should take this into consideration, and align the vertical axis with the SplitPane dividers of timegraph widgets instead.
