The name Key2Joy was chosen when in the early phases I just wanted the opposite of what the software 'JoyToKey' did. That time has long gone and I feel Key2Joy does a lot more than simply mapping keys to a joystick. It can do the inverse and by the time we reach 1.0.0 it can hopefully do all of it in quite a stable manner.

Before we reach 1.0.0 I want to change the name to avoid confusion with the JoyToKey project, as well as build our own unique product identity.

I like the logo, it's playful and fine for now. The name should either fit with it, or be so great that it inspires a logo change.

Ooh I like the 'Meld'-part of that name a lot! I think HID is a bit specific and technical. However your idea does inspire some other names.

Some ideas based on your idea: KeyMeld, MeldInput, InputMeld, MeldDevice, MeldSync, Meltscript, Meltangle, MeldForge, MeltSculpt, MeltCraft, InputMeld.

We'll keep thinking 😄

Thanks a lot for contributing!

Hi, just tried out your app. I think it's very clean and it has high potential (first time trying this kind of app tho, so I can't compare with others). Version 0.7 is so much better but it's missing default profile and I'm having difficulty to map the buttons (I'm not familiar with the terminologies of gamepad yet). Do you maybe have a discord community where people can discuss and get help?

As for the name, I think the logo is very cute and happy, so I think the word Joy fits the product name. How about 'SuperJoy Mapper'? 😁

Heya @hamasakifanz, thanks for your interest in the project. I'll be happy to help you figure out if the problems you experience are a bug or maybe I need to explain how something works 😀
I want to provide a forum for you to ask questions, though I don't want to spend time maintaining a Discord server. For that reason I opened up a GitHub Discussions here for you: https://github.com/luttje/Key2Joy/discussions Feel free to ask away and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I do like the name suggestion and will consider it.

Hope to see you in the GitHub Discussions soon and I'll help you out when I have time!
