HA now reports FoxESSCloud data off-line or unknown when it isn’t #275
Comments
Since you got it working, have you changed your api_key ? Are there any error logs ? - if you restart your home assistant, give it a minute to start up and then go to Settings, System, Logs and click on the button 'LOAD FULL LOGS' - can you post any error messages you see from this foxess integration. |
Hi yes I posted it above. Like it says there are 644 occurrences - I haven't posted them all but they all say, e.g. |
Can you restart HA and post what you see in the LOAD FULL LOGS for foxess - there should be much more than this. |
Well, OK:
|
You haven’t restarted your HA there, you need to - it will then just show the logs for the last minute at startup and hopefully a connection error |
Logger: homeassistant.components.sensor Setup of sensor platform foxess is taking over 10 seconds. |
Oh but - I am now seeing FoxESS data again. Just in time for it to get dark ... |
That is in my custom dashboard though. The data in the Energy dashboard doesn't work. |
If you have set up the sensors in your energy dashboard, it needs to gather data for a while before it will show - usually an hour or so whilst the statistics collect data. Probably best to check again in the morning, when hopefully your inverter will have started up again and you are receiving data. |
Hello |
The issue above was because the user hadn't restarted their HA after installation, it is not a general problem with the OpenAPI - that is working correctly. Your first steps should be to completely restart you home assistant, if for any reason you have changed your apikey in Foxcloud you must re-enter it here as well - the api_key is a once only key to your account and has to be shared amongst all applications that use it, if you change it all applications will stop working and have to be updated with the new key. If after doin this it still does not work, I will need to see your logs that show errors with foxess. In home assistant go to 'Settings', 'System', 'Logs' and then click on the button at the bottom of the screen 'LOAD FULL LOGS', it will show all logs since the HA was restarted and if you can copy any errors below that contain a reference to the custom component foxess. |
Hi all. I am building my first dashboard on a new Home Assistant Green. One of my main aims was to display data from our solar panels. Having read up and watched videos, I successfully installed HACS and the HA & FoxESSCloud integration. Set up a page with the gauges I wanted. All good. On Monday and Tuesday that was working fine. The data feed from the inverter goes off overnight then comes back up with the sun. But this morning all my FoxESSCloud data is reported in HA as “Unknown” and the inverter as “Off-line” even though it is actually working normally and feeding data to foxesscloud.com and to the Fox and Energy Stats apps.
So, any idea what might be wrong?

FoxESS has Cloud timeout or the Inverter is off-line, connection will be retried in 1 minute
