Complex Cycle2 animation stopped working with MS Edge update

As near as we can tell, the complex cycle2 animation scripts I use on the website at:

https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/conus_band.php?sat=G16&band=GEOCOLOR&length=12

STOPPED working when Microsoft rolled out a Windows 10 update that seems to have included changes to MS Edge browser.

If you try this page in other modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, IE Explorer) it works fine and doesn't throw any errors. It doesn't throw errors in Edge, but the animation never starts running.
