When running lsirec on linux kernel 4.5 or higher the program gives the error: mmap bar1: Invalid argument. This is due to memory mapping being prevented when the device drivers are loaded.
A workaround to this is to add to /etc/default/grub the kernel parameters: iomem=relaxed
and updating grub after that with update-grub.

Cool - I had the same issue as well. However, this doesn't help those of us running a (for instance) Debian live CD... Is there somewhere else this could be set?

A few years late but I just edit it directly on the grub screen by pressing e on the corresponding boot entry (append it on the vmlinuz line).
