What does this indicator measure?

Definition: It’s a composite indicator that has the objective to measure the achievement in human development in a territory. It has three dimensions:

  • Health dimension measured by life expectancy at birth.
  • Education dimension which measures the mean of schooling years for adults over 25 years old and expected years of schooling for children of school age.
  • A decent standard of living dimension is measured as the gross national income per capita.

Calculation:

  • Unit of measure: Value of the index with a range of 0.000 to 1.000.
