Different cropped page widths from identically sized crop boxes #73
Comments
Hey, @mattlynskey. Though you say, "...the crop boxes in Briss are identical", I see that some crop boxes have the 118x170 label while others have 115x170, which indicates that not all boxes are identical. Have you noticed that slight difference? |
Hey @cleydyr. Good catch. Sorry about that error on the uploaded screenshots. Here is a screen shot of the error with the exact same dimensions on the crop windows that produces different size widths on the cropped pdf. (Again, the crop windows were created by copy and pasting a previous crop window, so they should be exactly the same.) Any thoughts? Again, thanks for all your great work on this application!!! Appreciate any help or guidance on this!! |
Hey, @mattlynskey. Can you share a copy of a PDF file with which you can reproduce this behavior? |
Thanks for the note @cleydyr. Attached is the .pdf that produced the different widths. Originally, this .pdf is from Google Books. The difference in widths does not always occur. However, I notice that .pdfs from Google Books often have scans with different widths and when I try to crop them to the same widths it does not always produce a uniform width (even though there is a uniformly sized crop box). Thanks for any help you can provide! |
Hey, @mattlynskey. Thanks for sharing a document with which I could reproduce the behavior. It looks like the measures shown in the rectangles are "weighted" by the measures of each cropped page. Can you give us some insights over here, @mbaeuerle? |
Very thankful for this app and the recent up. Thanks for your great work!
I wanted to raise something odd that occurs after cropping. Perhaps this is user error, but when I align crop boxes the exact same dimensions (see the Briss screenshot below) the cropped pdf has varying widths in the output (see screenshot of cropped pdf). I know the crop boxes in Briss are identical since I copy and paste them over each subsequent page overlay.
Any ideas why the output is producing various widths in the cropped pdf out when the crop boxes are identical prior to cropping?
Thanks again for your help!
