mouse hand pointer not aligned with closing symbol (X)

Hello, when I hover over the tab list, the closing button (X) action (CLOSE TAB) will highlighted / activated despite the hand being nowhere near the X. It looks as if one is about to ACTIVATE the tab, but one will actually close it. The problem is compounded by the fact that the highlighting of the X is not particularly strong (just a different hue of red). I think it is a good idea in general to make the area that is sensitive for closing larger, for comfortable use, but at the same time it needs to be clear to users that they are about to close a tab, not activate it. Perhaps the issue is also more problematic during night mode, with more reddish colors of the screen. My suggestion would be that the tab line or at the very least the X button should light up very brightly in red so the user know he is about to close the tab.
