eDNA Data Flows and Goverance

Cefas are gearing up towards collecting large amounts of eDNA data, likely as part of ongoing annual survey work on RV Endeavour.

As part of the EMODnet Biology project the DGSS team are keen to initiate discussing with our scientists regarding how this data will be managed, governed and archived, and also if / how data flows will be set up to entities such as OBIS / GBIF etc. we are likely to want to use the new OBIS delivered extension to DarwinCore with is specifically set up to handle eDNA data.

Another consideration is the granularity of metadata records for the data collected.
