Fails in more than 1000 option to show in multi-select.

Can we use list of list (list<list>)of selectoption to support more than 1000 option?

I want a solution that can support more than 1000 option and also to overcome view state of selectoption as a challenge. Any help is much appreciated. :)

We need an updated version which supports more than 1000 records.
