Build script does not work; use the manual steps instead or try the new sub-theme tool

The script does not currently work (many others seeing the same issue); the workaround is to follow the manual instructions, which do work, or try the sub-theme tool that looks almost ready to go here.

The theme will install but you will receive this error when visiting a page outside of /admin:

TypeError: Drupal\Core\Render\Renderer::doTrustedCallback(): Argument #1 ($callback) must be of type callable, array given, called in /var/www/vhosts/test/httpdocs/core/lib/Drupal/Core/Render/Renderer.php
