Compared spar3d against trellis on a union of their provided examples:

Obviously trellis is better in terms of mesh quality (but spar3d is faster)

Further comparison across Spar3D/TRELLIS/Hunyuan3D-V2 , three SOTA open source models
Evaluated across the union of their provided assets, all default inference settings. Render with blender.

Short conclusion:

1. Geometry: trellis is on par with hunyuan3d-v2, (or hunyuan3d-v2 is a little little bit better), see tree leaves/locks
2. Apperance: trellis is best, huanyuan3d-v2-paint is somewhat over-saturated.
3. Model Size: hunyuan3d-v2 image-to-3d is 4x trellis image model, also requires more memory(15G seems not enough to load DiT and paint at the same time) and is slower (hunyuan3d-v2 diffusion + mc takes average 30s, let alone painting)

Anyway trellis is very good :)

Tested Tencent's HunYuan3D, "huanyuan3d-v2-paint is somewhat over-saturated", think so.

trellis is the best(totally and so far), think so.
