Expanding items in Resources view is slow

1. VS Code Insiders, have Azure Tools extensions installed
2. Create a new Azure Function
3. As soon as the Function is created - Azure: Activity Log will offer "Click to view resource"
4. Clicking on that button takes 3s to reveal the item in the Resoures tree. This feels very sluggish 🐌

After that item is expanded in the Resources tree. Expanding some item like "Files" takes 3+ seconds.
Is this really the slowness of the Azure API or could we somehow speed up the experience. The current slowness makes the view unusable for me.
