Windows build number:

10.0.19045.4529

Your Distribution version:

22.04

Your WSL versions:

WSL version: 2.2.4.0
Kernel version: 5.15.153.1-2
WSLg version: 1.0.61
MSRDC version: 1.2.5326
Direct3D version: 1.611.1-81528511
DXCore version: 10.0.26091.1-240325-1447.ge-release
Windows version: 10.0.19045.4529

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Deactivate FancyZones
  2. Start a graphic X11 program, say, xeyes.
  3. Optional: Check that its window can be resized by dragging a corner or side. Confirm that the eyes move when the pointer is moved inside xeyes or some other WSLg GUI window.
  4. Activate FancyZones
  5. Move the xeyes window to another zone, using the FZ shortcut +

WSL logs:

No response

WSL dumps:

No response

Expected behavior:

  • After the window has been moved, the program should still respond to keyboard and mouse input.
  • Ideally -- this is covered by other bug reports -- the window should be resized to fit the zone.

Actual behavior:

  • The program is completely unresponsive, and does not snap out of this state.
  • The window is sometimes cropped
  • Some applications doesn't even survive being launched. Their windows are "born" unresponsive.
