Description of the new feature / enhancement

1. Cover Image

  • The cover image should be user replacable, deletable, and removable (no cover image).
  • The cover image should be user uploadable from device storage.
  • If possible support >4k cover images too and avif as cover images.
  • Reference Images Here.
  • The cover image should be addable/replaceable/deletetable only on the folder below the default location folder. (Default location = D:/All Manga, now the list show in location is manga1, manga2, epub1, etc. The said action should only be possible on manga1, manga2, etc.)
  • The image uploaded by user should be stored in user data folder inside yomikiru folder for both portable and executable versions. (As anything other than user data folder would be deleted in an app update).
  • The uploaded cover image's shape should be 'Rounded Square / Rectangle'.
  • The name of the manga should be below the cover image (Like in windows explorer) with the margins being the start and end of the image / folder just like in windows.

Scenario when this would be used?

End user experience. Here is the layout sample. Please do improvise as you see fit.

This is a great idea. With covers in library it will looks tremendously better. OMG I CANT WAIT!!!!

Maybe use the Tachiyomi Library UI for reference. it looks clean and hopfully Yokimiru will allows us to set categories for each manga and each category will appear in a separate tab like in Tachiyomi. Cause there is some steaming series that I dont want to show up as soon as I open my library

The name of the manga should be below the cover image (Like in windows explorer) with the margins being the start and end of the image / folder just like in windows.

Some changes after comparing different font sizes for 2 row size.

  • The Name being 2 lines max and its font size being 26 - 30 px.
  • Updated the same in the sample images above.

If possible support >4k cover images too and gif as cover images.

  • Rather than gif, please support avif as cover images. As it performs way better.
  • Here is the comparision between gif and avif of the same animated image.
  • gif = 8.63 mb
  • avif = 800 kb (90% reduction is size.)
