Lately, I've been reflecting a lot on why I sometimes feel motivated during work while at other times I feel less motivated, even though it's the same work. I quickly realized that motivation is closely connected to my performance at work. When I perform well, I feel motivated, and vice versa.

It's no surprise; it's in everyone's interest to keep developers motivated due to the increased productivity.

## How to Stay Motivated?

1. **Get Feedback:** Collaborate closely with users or colleagues to understand how you can provide value as quickly as possible. We all want to feel needed, so even small improvements can boost morale.

2. **Always Learn:** If you feel stagnant at work, it may be time to reassess. Challenge yourself to fix things you don't understand, experiment with new technologies, and innovate. Continuous learning is essential for maintaining motivation.

3. **Understand the Why:** Reflect on why you do what you do at work. Most of us work for someone else, often to increase profit or reduce costs, which may not always be personally fulfilling. If this is the case, find motivation in learning and growth opportunities. Alternatively, if your work directly impacts others positively, such as developing software for medical research, embrace that sense of purpose.

What are your tips for staying motivated at work?
