- In Firefox go to Add-Ons and select the options menu with the cog wheel on the top right
- Choose "debug add-on"
- Click "run add-on temporarily" and pick the
manifest.json
If you have the web-ext tool installed, then go into the add-on's directory and run web-ext run to temporarily run the add-on.
