- Rounding items and Refund Manager
Shopware can use currency settings to calculate how it rounds an order’s grand total. This includes the number of decimals in your product pricing and the nearest rounding interval, such as 0.50 or 1.00.
These settings can lead to a different grand total than the total sum of line items. When Mollie cross-checks these amounts and finds that they don’t match, it causes a checkout error.
You can use our built-in rounding feature to avoid rounding issues in your checkout.
When enabled, it adds a separate line item in your Mollie Dashboard for the difference in rounding, and your customers pay the grand total calculated by Shopware.
We recommend to only use this feature, if you have a special setup when it comes to prices and currency roundings. This would include product prices with multiple decimals, that could lead to a different rounding values in combination with higher quantities, but also if you have a special currency configuration in Shopware.
In the Shopware settings of currencies, you could configure roundings and rounding intervals that cause problems like this.
If activated, there will always be a rounding line item if the grand total does not match the sum of line items. This means, that every order will always work! (speaking of the total amount checks). If you have a bug somewhere in your shop (other plugin, custom coding), this feature would always automatically fix it for you, which means you might not be aware of it.
The good thing is - whatever happens, the customer always pays what Shopware displays in the end :)
Please note, this line item is only created in Mollie and not in Shopware! Shopware already has the correct totals in its data!
You can enable the feature in the plugin configuration.
In addition to this, you can also set a custom line item name and SKU in case you need to technically identify it in other systems such as ERP systems.
We did our best to tell you about existing rounding items also within the Refund Manager. Full refunds will automatically consider these items, for partial refunds, we've added alerts and notices to help you proceeding manually.
