Improve usability and navigation #578

Are you using the player on TV? |
I consider TV support as minimal compatibility only as the primary use case for me is on a phone. I occasionally used Android TV in the past but I dont any longer nor have I any TV. |
Thank you for your explanation, but I believe that most of your users are on TV - you can search on forums and social sites. The play pause button is not necessary even for phone - you can just tap on the screen to play/pause. There is even no need to indicate that the player is paused as it is obvious. |
In addition to that, could you please look at Nova player and see how it implements the seek/pause features and reuse them - they are extremely convenient. Thank you. |
Great player and works really well on AndroidTV if tunneling is enabled!
My request is related to using a remote control and AndroidTV.
I saw on PlayStore that other users requested this too and hope you will consider it.
Could you please remove those huge play/pause buttons - they are completely unnecessary. User can click on the video to play/pause - theres is no need to have such buttons. Also if you want to pause to see/read something they obstruct the view.
Also you might want to use the up/down button to see information for your position in the video and you get that huge pause button in the middle of the screen instead.
Best thing to do is to adopt the Nova video player navigation behavior as it is very convenient.
When using the left/right buttons you can view and focus the navigation bar and use it for fast forward instead of the current implementation - it is more convenient to see your position in the file while forwarding.
Thank you in advance.
