Is it possible to expose the newly added Spotify Miniplayer to non-premium users or does it work like the download feature where a premium account is truly required?

maybe once its released for everyone. Its not available for us to even test it out. so for now, no.
Anyway, if its a premium feature, its highly unlikely we will add it.

Came back to this thread since I noticed Spotify made access to Lyrics a premium feature. However, another issue was opened for this so I won't talk about it here.

Anyway, if its a premium feature, its highly unlikely we will add it.

I was quite confused about this statement as the README says that it unlocks all premium feature, except downloads. If a premium feature is highly unlikely to be added, then the README is a bit misleading. Since lyrics are now also behind paywall (more features have become accessible only through Spotify premium), perhaps the README could be changed to just blocks ads and banners.

... unless you guys are working on those features to be available through blockthespot...

@nnotwen The readme is outdated in a way. This project started when premium feature only meant No ads and downloads.
At that time we were able to provide all the features expect downloads. Now Spotify has updated and added a lot of premium only feature which is controlled by their servers. So we can't easily make it work on the client with patches. These include lyrics. For these changes we need to create additional patches like with Spicetify to provide lyrics.
